Flinging Monkey Gods

This is the beginning.

The launch of monkeygods.com, the new blog, the forums, and most importantly our first two games.

Monkey Gods is a new company from an old team.  Andy Gavin and I have been working together for 25 years.  We started making games in 1985 with a game for the Apple ][, and our company, Naughty Dog, went on to create the Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter series.  Jason Kay joined us to start Flektor, a media mashup tool that was bought and merged into MySpace in 2008.

So we have game experience, web experience, social networking experience, and a love of all of them.  Monkey Gods was started so we could work on our passions.  We think you will see that in the games. We are starting with two:

  • MonkWerks is a word game with a twist.
  • Snood is one of the most popular games on the web.

More are coming soon.

Let us know what you think!

Sup guys,

I don't know if you guys remember me, but we met at CES in 1994 I believe. I was the Asian kid who kept hanging around your booth playing Way of the Warrior with you guys for like two days. Looking back, sorry about that, I was probably annoying as hell (I was like 11 or 12) haha.

Anyways, I saw that you guys started this new company and wanted to wish you luck and congratulate you on all your success over the years. I work with a valuation consulting firm that does work for a lot of video game companies so I'm always keeping tabs on the industry etc.

So best of luck to ya and take care.

-VT

PS if you guys have any free time, I'd love to pick your brain about what it's really like to start a company. Just shoot me an e-mail.
